Request for Previously-Loved Tennis Balls

Don't Toss Your Used Tennis Balls

As most of you know, the WTA tries to recycle all the tennis balls used in Walterboro after they have performed their last ace (or not) for the local School System. Over the last few years we have recycled several thousand balls. Most of those went to individual teachers who either play tennis or requested them from one of our players. The program has grown and the number of folks who participate by giving us the used balls has increased with the growth of the demand for them.

Recently, the School District has asked us for as many used tennis balls as possible for the Cottageville Elementary School. I have about 500 bagged and ready to go, however, they can use many more. I know there are many old balls still around in car trunks, baskets and buckets. The Schools can use them.

You can contribute your recycled balls by bagging them in old shopping bags and giving them to any of our officers (Buddy Creech, John Waddell, Lynn Murdaugh, Patty Lohr or me) or leaving them in the bathroom at the Forest Hills Courts.
